Each year, PI provides several opportunities for you to volunteer in short-term humanitarian trips to serve alongside our Dream Agents in various locations around the world: Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, & Ghana. PI has been facilitating trips since 2005.
Our volunteer trips are designed to give you a glimpse into the work that PI is doing in that part of the world via our Dream Agents and partnering organizations. The hands-on volunteer component allows you to participate in an ongoing initiative. The volunteer trip is only the starting point in a journey that stretches well beyond the timeframe of the trip itself.

Trip projects vary by location but will often include: building/renovation projects, medical clinics, feeding programs, street/block parties and more. To learn more about possible projects for a specific location, click on one of the trips listed on the left.

What you need to know
Other countries and cultures do not always operate at a North American pace or structure. Plans and agendas can change at a moments notice. Trip participants need to be flexible and adaptable!

We believe that the volunteer trip experience is enriched by including some "tourist" elements, so we usually include one or two local attractions/experiences ie. hiking a volcano, zip lining, visiting an artisan market etc.

Trip and travel details such as what to pack, cultural expectations, dress codes etc will be covered in either a team meeting or a comprehensive email in advance of each trip.

What's covered in the cost of the trip?
Round trip airfare, emergency "in country" medical insurance, accommodations, meals, transportation (within the host country), team t-shirt and an occasional treat

What's NOT covered?
Travel to and from the departure airport, souvenirs, meals and expenses during the travel portion of the trip (from when we leave to when we arrive -- at airports etc), meals and expenses during any "tourist/leisure" days of the trip (differs for each trip - we will inform you in a team meeting or email) We do not provide "trip cancellation and trip interruption" insurance.

Feedback from trip participants

"We enjoy traveling with PI because it provides opportunities for us to challenge ourselves and love others in practical ways." JP

"I see why I was told this trip would be life changing" NR

"When I decided to go to Ghana earlier this year, I wanted a life changing experience and I definitely had one!" GE

"This trip with PI has opened my eyes. The dream agents were SO excited to have us with them and it was a pleasure to serve along side them and their people. We were well cared for by the organization and the dream agents. I look forward to my next trip with PI, since we can do far more together than we could ever do alone.

Thank you PI for allowing me to be part of this life changing experience." AS
