Who We Are

Possibilities International (PI) is a humanitarian aid organization with a simple but powerful belief: When ordinary people come together with a common purpose, extraordinary things can happen!

Founded and led by Sam Welten, Possibilities International exists to bring hope and practical help to the hurting, helpless, and hopeless around the world.

From building homes for families in Guatemala to caring for vulnerable children in Ghana, supporting communities in Jamaica, and reaching people in countries like Kyrgyzstan, Liberia, and Ukraine, PI is committed to doing more than simply talking about making a difference. We believe in rolling up our sleeves and making it happen!

At the heart of everything we do is a conviction that everyone has something to contribute, and when we bring those contributions together, the possibilities are endless.

The B1 (Be One) campaign is a natural extension of everything Possibilities International believes.

It carries two powerful expressions of the same vision.

B1 for the World

Imagine one million people each giving just one dollar to help people facing poverty, hardship, and hopelessness. One dollar may seem insignificant on its own, but together those dollars become one million dollars of opportunity to change lives! Donate for yourself, for your family, for your neighbourhood!

That's the beauty of B1. Nobody has to do everything, but everybody can do something.

B1 for the Local Church

Sam's passion for unity goes far beyond international missions. After many years serving as a pastor, he carries a deep love for the local church and an unwavering belief that God has extraordinary things in store for it.

In Genesis 11, we see the remarkable potential of people united around a common purpose. In John 17, Jesus prayed that His followers would be ONE. And Psalm 133 reminds us that God commands His blessing where His people dwell together in unity.

Sam believes that if the local church could ever get unity right, bringing every gift, every ability, and every heart together around God's mission, the church could become an unstoppable force for the Kingdom of God!

Imagine churches where mission matters more than personal preferences. Where people celebrate what they can accomplish together rather than focusing on their differences. Where reaching people, both locally and globally, becomes a shared passion.

Sam Welten — A Passion for Missions and the Church

Sam has spent much of his life in two worlds that he believes were never meant to be separated: the local church and missions.

His years in pastoral leadership have given him a deep appreciation for the incredible potential of a healthy, united church. His humanitarian work around the world has allowed him to see firsthand what happens when people choose to care, give, serve, and go.

Now focusing full-time on Possibilities International, Sam is committed to bringing these two passions together.

Through international humanitarian aid projects, mission teams, and speaking engagements with churches, schools, and community groups, Sam challenges people to look beyond what seems possible and believe that together they can accomplish something extraordinary.

He wants to see local churches thrive, people discover their purpose, and missions become more than an occasional offering or annual event. He believes reaching beyond ourselves should be part of who we are.
